Deck Leaders

The Armstrong Spallumcheen Outdoor Pool is looking for qualified and experienced lifeguards to take the role of leadership more seriously this summer within the position of a casual to full time Deck Leader. Application is open until April 6^th.

Qualifications Required:

National Lifeguard (NL)- Recent up to 2 years

Swim Instructor (SI)- Recent up to 2 years

Airway Management and Oxygen Administration (AMOA)

Standard First Aid- Recent up to 3 years

CPR-C & AED- Recent up to 3 years

Two or more years’ aquatic experience.

Duties:

• Works to ensure facility operational flow throughout day and evening shifts.
• Facility management when classified as Deck Leader, including cleanliness & health.
• Duty of facility supervision to employees as well as all patrons.
• Emergency management.
• Reporting management.
• Assist with staff training.
• Event planning.
• Daily scheduling duties.
• Shift Reports for the Aquatic Supervisor.
• Lesson & Program implementation and supervision.
• Attend all in-services and any extra training required.
• Also perform all duties of an instructor/guard when not designated as a Deck Leader.
• If at any time a Deck Leader shows themselves unfit to uphold the required level of maturity, integrity or work ethic, the title of Deck Leader will be removed for the remainder of the season.

Hours & Pay rate:

Pay Rate

$19.50-$21.00/hour

Hours

Casual to Full time. Rotation of mornings, days, evenings, and weekend shifts.

Reports Directly To

Aquatic Supervisor & General Manager

Starts & Ends

May 1^st- August 28^th
